This is a solo sung by Sparrow.
While Thumbelina is trapped underground for the winter, she happens upon a sparrow, who is thought to be dead, in the tunnels of Mr. Mole's dwelling. Thumbelina discovers the sparrow is only unconscious and needs care to survive. So she takes the necessary steps to help the sparrow recover until the spring thaw.
By spring, Sparrow has regained all his strength and cannot control the urge to get out into the world to fly free once more.
